DFW is growing: Housing inventory ready for the right buyer!

Thanks to a varied job market, no state income tax, excellent school districts and the second busiest passenger airport in the world, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas is becoming THE place for real estate. It is tied for first place as the most common destination for movers from seven other states.

The four major metropolitan areas, Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio, are all experiencing a booming market. This includes inbound movers and loyal Texans who move within the state.

In-demand markets like Texas can often mean high prices and low inventory. Fortunately, many areas of Texas are not having this issue. The Dallas/Fort Worth market is building enough inventory to catch up to demand coming into the spring selling months. 

The Place for Real Estate

It’s no wonder that DFW is ranked in the top 10 real estate markets to watch in 2023 and beyond, by the National Association of REALTORS®. Housing affordability, job growth, and population growth over the last year have put DFW real estate in the spotlight. 

Homes are currently on the market for about 60 days on average. It’s not necessarily a buyer’s market, but buyers have more options to choose when it comes to properties for sale.

DFW has a current median home sale price of $375,000, which contributed to the 1.3% population growth from 2021-2022. With a 100.4% forecasted housing inventory growth, there are many reasons why DFW real estate is prospering.

Dallas is in the top 10 most populous cities in the United States with added interest from potential relocators in Fort Worth and Frisco/McKinney according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Across the metroplex’s 11 counties, there are many admired areas that are great for your next home or investment property.
