On the last Monday in May, Americans gather with loved ones to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our country. Honoring these brave servicemen and women during Memorial Day Weekend takes many forms including patriotic parades, family cookouts, lake outings and more. There are plenty of activities and events to attend this weekend, so here are some of our personal favorites across the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

National Polka Festival

Ennis  |  May 27 – 29

Kick off Memorial Day Weekend by celebrating 55 years of Czech heritage and traditions at Ennis’s National Polka Festival. This incredible event offers an abundance of family-friendly activities in a small town atmosphere. Carry the Load: Dallas Memorial March

If you’re looking to make a meaningful impact this weekend, stop by Reverchon Park and participate in part (or all!) of Carry the Load’s the 20-hour march. In addition to the commemorative march, listen to live music and captivating stories of our country’s heroes. Fort Worth Runner’s Club Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk
