The Board of Trustees of the Giddings Independent School District (“GISD”) hereby serves notice that GISD will accept bids for the surface only of 27.1 acres with potential for prime residential development. A portion of this property previously served as the Old Giddings Elementary School. The District has demolished those facilities, and any formerly present hazardous materials (i.e. asbestos) has been properly abated, and the entire facilities have been demolished and removed from the Property. The Property is zoned R-1 and is located near an elementary school in a well established neighborhood with modern amenities and well-maintained outdoor landscaping. The Property will be conveyed subject to the exceptions and reservations contained in the bid package, including the reservation and exception that any conveyance will be for the surface only. The Property does not include the mineral estate. Property is being sold “as is and where is, with any and all latent and patent defects and faults.” There is no warranty of any kind by the District, including that the Property is fit for a particular purpose.
